this is a dwarf hotot and it is the cutest bunny in the world. <3 <3 <3

i have never felt such an affinity for a real animal.

when i held a real rabbit for the first time, i thought that if i hugged it too hard it would break. it was warm, squirmy and fragile. also suicidal.

(oh... no wonder all the animals ran away from Elmyra...)

OMG, i need a compact little rabbit with eyeliner and black ears. i will call him Emo and he will write bad poetry and whine on his blog about how much his life sucks.

Sometimes I feel like life has no more meaning. Then I know it's time to go shopping. I'm going to Muji after this to spend money.

I think there was a time when I wasn't this shallow. Or at least not this consciously shallow.

Stella reminded me the other day about how serious and earnest we used to be in JC. I actually sat down with her and Mich and made a solemn pact to never let each other get into an abusive relationship. Also, when I was in JC I wanted to either change or rule the world, preferably both. Dreams of revolution and living for ideals; freedom, beauty, truth and love. (How many times have I watched Moulin Rouge?) I used to stay up all night on the phone with Gail, complaining about but secretly relishing how much we tortured ourselves emotionally.

And now, like Flora Poste, I just want things around me to be tidy and orderly. Last night I was watching some people parachuting down a ravine on TV and I found myself saying to my mother, "I just want a quiet life. I don't need excitement or adrenaline." I just want to go home after a long day at work and read a nice book, or watch some TV, and then sleep the sleep of the weary but undefeated. On weekends I will sleep, feel grateful I don't have to go back to the office, maybe bake a cake or cook something nice... See what I have been reduced to?
